Japan is represented at WONCA conference this week. I have mentioned it to Dr Lewis who is also attending. 3,500 family Drs from around the world, meeting in Prague. They have a Twiiter feed so will be dropping In PAS leaflets on a regular basis.
Dr Lewis intends to engage some of the more prominent Drs in B12d/hypoT conversation whilst he is there.

Not strictly about PA/B12d, but have you seen this news report today?

http://news.sky.com/story/1133509/ms-an ... et-to-work

What hope the poor PA/B12d sufferer, if these more recognised conditions are not being taken seriously...

Re: Today's news article (ME / CFS)

Postby BeeNumber12 » Sat Sep 07, 2013 8:35 pm

Although the meeting was officially about ME / CFS patients, we know that many PAS members have received that very diagnosis. I have to admit, Andrea, that the following behaviors were surprising to me. On the other hand, I know we are often being manipulated, somehow.
"Some patient-created posts were edited to remove content, and others were deleted outright. " and
"Furthermore, questions and rebuttals containing any research were moved to a locked research & funding section, expressly reserved for inappropriate questions and complaints regarding research, funding, or the NHS itself. ...the research & funding section, by then known as the place where difficult questions and evidence go to die."
and
"Shortly before noon on Sunday, August 18th, (2013) the entire clinic was locked down,..."
"Accordingly, a list of the 10 most erroneous, harmful, and shocking myths propagated by a minority of the clinic experts are discussed below, as well as the evidence which calls those myths into question."

So, I would urge those wondering about ME/CFS to have a read of the MYTHS:

Quite a depressing article in Pulse about treating hypothyroidism, caused quite a lot of outrage over on Thyroid UK:

Worth reading the Editor's note and readers' comments as well, reference to Dr Lewis. I think you need to register on Pulse to see the article.

Both of my parents were diagnosed with PA. Mum is on 2 monthly injections and relatively OK. Dad progressed to dementia and sadly died 14/2/13. Despite my own levels being 'normal' I have some symptoms. Jac.

OK, so what that second link is saying is that the only reason they're pushing the B12/folate angle is so that they can protect their patent and make more money. Figures.

That's wonderful Andrea! I too kept up with my B12 shots and folic while going through chemo/radiation.... the doctors said I came through it very well, always had good blood levels and didn't have too much fatigue.

Very interesting article about vitamin D and autoimmune disease, perhaps we should start a new poll what month people were born in? I'm January:

Saw this and thought it was interesting, presume this means homocysteine will be tested in all babies?
